Where does organic casein come from?
Ekopura casein comes from organic farms in the Alpine region. The cows there graze on rich Alpine pastures. An environment with clean air and a healthy atmosphere. As long as the temperature permits, the cows graze outside.
Does your casein come from grass-fed cows?
Yes, the cows eat mainly grass from the pasture throughout the year. Only when it gets too cold in the winter do the cows go inside.
Can the cows graze freely?
Yes, the milk for our casein comes from organic farms where attention is paid to animal welfare and nature. This is part of the basic principles of organic nutrition.
What is the shelf life?
The shelf life is always listed on the back of the package, at the bottom. We guarantee a minimum shelf life of 12 months.
So purchasing more products for a longer period is certainly possible.
What is the best way to store the products?
The products are best kept sealed and at room temperature, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children. The ideal temperature is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius.
How to use Ekopura Casein?
Mix 1 scoop of protein powder (+/- 25g) with 250ml of water, (nut) milk or juice to make a tasty shake or smoothie. You can use a blender or a shaker use.
What are the health benefits?

Yes, Ekopura Casein is Micellar. Micellar Casein is the purest form of casein. In milk, casein is found in micelles. These are solid particles that float around in the milk. These particles clump together in the stomach which causes casein to acquire its special property of slow absorption by the body. As a result, the proteins and nutrients are absorbed by the body over a longer period of time (up to 7 hours).
Can you take it during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Yes, this product is a good supplement to get enough or extra protein, even during pregnancy. The casein is pure, unprocessed and organic. Therefore we can guarantee that no artificial additives, GMOs or other harmful substances are present in the product.
Does Ekopura Casein contain Lactose?
Yes, Ekopura Casein contains a small amount of lactose. In case you are allergic to this we also offer Vegan Proteins which are lactose- and allergen-free.
Is the casein heated during production?
The organic milk is heated very briefly and minimally so that the proteins remain intact and are not damaged. Here the milk is heated for a short period of time and then held at 60ºC for about 15-20 seconds after which the milk is cooled again. As a result, our casein is bioactive and not denatured. Furthermore, only ultrafiltration takes place to ensure that the casein is completely clean.
