Vegan Protein Powder | Vanilla | 75% Protein | 500g | 20 servings
Ekopura Natural Vegan Protein – Vanilla is a plant-based protein powder with 75% protein: about 19 grams of protein per 25 gram serving. The protein base is yellow pea protein with fava protein (broad bean), together providing all nine essential amino acids. The taste comes from natural vanilla flavouring with a small amount of stevia, without added sugars or artificial additives. Registered with The Vegan Society and free from lactose, gluten and soy.
Proteins contribute to a growth in muscle mass, to the maintenance of muscle mass and to the maintenance of normal bones. The mild vanilla taste fits into porridge, coffee or a smoothie.
Subtly sweet taste and therefore perfect for fresh shakes, smoothies and baked goods.

Ekopura Vegan Vanilla is a vanilla-flavoured vegan protein powder containing 75% protein, made from peas and broad beans.
Each bag contains 500 grams, enough for 20 shakes of 25 grams each. The powder is suitable for vegetarians and vegans: it contains no animal-derived ingredients. Ekopura Vegan Protein is also available in Blueberry and Chocolate flavours.
A 25-gram serving of Ekopura Vegan Vanilla provides 18.75 grams of protein, as 75 per cent of the powder consists of protein.
That same portion contains 99 kcal (415 kJ), 2.05 grams of fat (of which 0.50 grams is saturated), 1.25 grams of carbohydrates (of which 0.05 grams is sugar), 0.50 grams of fibre and 0.58 grams of salt. Per 100 grams, that amounts to 397 kcal and 75 grams of protein. With 0.20 grams of sugars per 100 grams, this powder is sugar-free; it contains no added sugar: this product contains naturally occurring sugars.
In the EU, protein is subject to approved health claims relating to muscle mass and bones, and Ekopura Vegan Vanilla more than meets the criteria for these claims.
Protein contributes to a growth in muscle mass.
Protein contributes to the maintenance of muscle mass.
Protein contributes to the maintenance of normal bones.
The requirement is that a product must be a source of protein: at least 12 per cent of its energy must come from protein. In the case of this powder, that figure is approximately 76 per cent, meaning it also meets the 20 per cent threshold for being classified as ‘high in protein’. A varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle are important.
The European reference intake for protein is 50 grams per day for an adult, and this is a general guideline.
How much you need depends on your weight, your age and how much you exercise. One 25-gram shake provides 18.75 grams of protein, which is just over a third of that 50 grams. You get the rest from your diet: pulses, nuts, grains, dairy, fish, meat or eggs. As a guideline, you should aim for around 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day, and if you exercise a lot, that figure can quickly add up: this is how you calculate your protein requirements.
The difference lies in the source: whey comes from milk, whilst Ekopura Vegan Vanilla is a plant-based protein powder made from peas and field beans.
As a result, this powder contains no milk and therefore no lactose. Yes, it contains all the essential amino acids: both peas and field beans provide all nine: the building blocks your body cannot produce itself: including the three branched-chain amino acids leucine, isoleucine and valine. The same approved claims apply to protein, regardless of whether it comes from milk or plants. The protein content is very similar: 75% here, 78% in our ‘Whey Protein Vanilla’, for those who prefer dairy.
Ekopura Vegan Vanilla contains five ingredients, in descending order: pea protein isolate 71 per cent, broad bean protein isolate 25 per cent, natural vanilla flavouring 2.3 per cent, cinnamon 0.3 per cent and sweetener (steviol glycosides) 0.2 per cent.
The vanilla flavouring, cinnamon and steviol glycosides do not provide any protein and are included solely for flavour. It contains no colourings or artificial sweeteners.
No, Ekopura Vegan Vanilla is not certified organic. Among other things, it contains steviol glycosides as a sweetener, and these are not permitted in organic food. Our protein powders Whey Natural Organic, Casein Organic and Vegan Protein Organic are, however, certified organic.
No, Ekopura Vegan Vanilla does not contain any of the fourteen allergens that must be declared by law in the EU.
The five ingredients are pea protein isolate, broad bean protein isolate, natural vanilla flavouring, cinnamon and steviol glycosides. The list of allergens also includes three legumes: soya, peanuts and lupin; peas and broad beans are not included. If you have an allergy or intolerance and are unsure, please consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Vanilla is the dominant flavour in Ekopura Vegan Vanilla: the powder contains natural vanilla flavouring and a touch of cinnamon.
It is sweetened with steviol glycosides (stevia), not sugar, so the shake is slightly sweet. You can taste the pea and broad bean protein base in the background. If you mix it with plant-based milk instead of water, the shake becomes creamier. If you’d like to try it first, you can order a 25-gram sample: exactly one serving.
Yes, the powder dissolves more evenly in a shaker or blender than with a spoon: add two tablespoons (25 grams) to 250 ml of water.
Plant-based milk works too. Blend until the shake is creamy; this helps to minimise lumps. There’s no measuring spoon in the bag; the two tablespoons are the measure, and you can order a separate stainless steel measuring spoon from us. You can also mix the powder into porridge, yoghurt, a smoothie or a baking recipe.
There’s no set time for a protein shake: protein intake is spread throughout the day, so you can choose whatever time suits you best.
In practice, people drink the shake at breakfast, after exercise or as a snack. There is no approved EU health claim for a specific time of day. The recommended amount is 25 grams per serving, 1 to 3 servings a day. If you’re able to get your protein from your regular diet, you don’t necessarily need a shake.
No, a protein shake won’t make you lose weight: weight loss is all about your total daily intake.
There is no approved EU health claim linking protein or a protein shake to weight loss. This powder is not a meal replacement. A protein shake does, however, increase your total protein intake without adding too many extra calories: a 25-gram serving provides 18.75 grams of protein at 99 kcal. If you want to lose weight, seek guidance from a dietitian or your GP; they will assess your overall diet.
You should drink a maximum of three shakes a day from Ekopura Vegan Vanilla, each serving 25 grams.
Do not exceed this recommended daily intake. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Yes, it can be combined with all other Ekopura products, such as magnesium, omega-3 and our protein powders: this powder provides protein, with no added vitamins or minerals, and therefore does not overlap with any other Ekopura product. If you are taking a supplement from another brand or a multivitamin, add the amounts together. If you are taking medication or are undergoing treatment, please consult your GP or pharmacist.
If you are using Ekopura Vegan Vanilla for children, during pregnancy or whilst breastfeeding, please consult a healthcare professional first.
The dosage is intended for adults. Children require a different dose; please consult your GP, pharmacist or child health clinic for advice. If using the powder form, a smaller portion may be appropriate; discuss this with one of them.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, your midwife, GP or pharmacist is the person to contact. Please present the list of ingredients during that consultation: pea protein isolate, broad bean protein isolate, natural vanilla flavouring, cinnamon and steviol glycosides.
Store the pouch tightly closed at room temperature, dry, out of direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
We guarantee a minimum shelf life of 12 months. The best before date is on the packaging. It does not need the fridge; a dry kitchen cupboard is fine. Close the pouch properly after every use, so that no moisture can get in: moisture makes protein powder clump.
