Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is matcha?

Matcha is a traditional Japanese green tea powder made from carefully cultivated and finely ground tea leaves.

Unlike ordinary green tea, with matcha you consume the whole tea leaf. As a result, matcha naturally contains more antioxidants, catechins and nutrients.

For high-quality ceremonial matcha, the tea plants are temporarily shaded before harvest. This allows the leaves to develop their deep green colour, mellow flavour and natural umami.

After harvesting, the leaves are steamed, dried and slowly ground into an ultra-fine powder.

Our organic matcha comes directly from Japan and is produced using traditional methods.

Why choose Ekopura Organic Matcha?
