Welcome to the team, Gijs Wassenaar!
Gijs is 21 years old and is making a name for himself in big air kitesurfing. Having competed twice in the Dutch editions of the Red Bull Mega Loop Challenge in 2014 and 2015, he has firmly established himself on the national scene, and by jumping a world record height of 19.1 metres during a competition in 2015, he managed to attract international attention. He may have lost that record, but in February Gijs is heading to South Africa to take part in his first international competition. At the Red Bull King of the Air in Cape Town, Gijs will be taking on the world’s top 24 in a competition for the highest and most impressive jump. The perfect moment to reclaim that record.
